On Blog Awards: Real Neat Blog

S’up internet?!
To kick off this super-tag Sunday, I would like to say a big thank-you to Nephele over at Night Train Books for nominating me for this award.
It was super neat of you…
Get it, NEAT...
I hate myself.
Here’s the tag!

Rules are thus:

  • Thank and link the blogger that nominated you.
  • Answer the 7 questions that the nomination has provided you.
  • Create 7 questions for your nominees.
  • Nominate 7 other Blogger

1.Would you want your favourite book series to be turned into movies or a TV show?
My favourite books have already been made into movies; The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit, Harry Potter, and I love them!
Shows of books I love, unfortunately, tend to be a little hit or miss.
Here’s lookin’ at you Shadowhunters. Actually I don’t HATE Shadowhunters, it just had the potential to be so much better, when it was just sort of…average. Disappointing really.

2. What country you’ve never been to would you love to visit?
Japan, the country is just beautiful and so interesting.
I’d also love to go to New Zealand, as I hear it’s a lot like Scotland, except, they actually see the sunshine. What a novelty!

3. Which upcoming book release are you most excited for this year?
Oh I have a few, they would definitely have to be Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas, Heartless by Marissa Meyer and, of course, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child by JK Rowling.

4. What’s your favourite magical creature?
I want to say Unicorn, because it’s the national animal of Scotland – for real, I couldn’t make this stuff up – but, I think it may be a Dragon. Or a Gryphon. Or a Mermaid… or… You know what, this question is too difficult!

5. What’s your favourite social networking site?
Pintrest I guess, though, you couldn’t really call it social networking right?
Maybe twitter. Absolutely not Facebook though.

6. Do you prefer paperback or hardcover?
Hardback for sure. Though I don’t like the price.
They are much sturdier in the long run and don’t take as much damage, plus you get so many extra, quirky details with hardbacks. I’m such a sucker for a hardback that has a gorgeous cover under the dust jacket.

7. Which is your favourite month in the year?
Hmm, I think maybe September. For the past few years my boyfriend and I have taken two weeks off from work during September to spend together and gone on day trips and the likes. We rarely get days off together so getting to spend that time together is very special. We also go to Glasgow Comic-con during September and it’s a lot of fun, though I do end up spending an obscene amount of cash!

Welp, those were my answers, now time for…

My questions
1. You fall into a vat of nuclear waste! What would your superhero power and name be?
2. What was your first thought when you awoke this morning?
3. You have the ability to summon any character from a book. Who would you summon?
4. Whats the strangest scar you have, and how did you get it?
5. Where is your absolute favourite place/spot to go on a lazy sunday afternoon?
6. What bizarre talent do you have? (Everyone has something)
7. If you could read the perfect book, what would it be?

Is it weird I sort of want to answer my own questions? Anyway.

I Nominate
1. Liam @heyashers
2. Shannon @shannonpaigewaters
3. R.J “dude, how do I not know your name as of yet” Jacobs @rjjacobswriters
4. Louise @geniereads
5. Hollie @hollieblog
6. Lauren @wonderlessreviews
7. thejouskablog

Feel free to ignore the tag if you wish, but I would be interested in hearing your answers!

How lucky, to already have movie versions of your favorite book series!

I’d like to see Japan and New Zealand too, but Scotland’s always been on my to-do list. Gorgeous landscapes and historic castles under gloomy skies? Where do I sign up.

Choosing between gryphons and dragons would kill me. Also: I’d love to live somewhere with a unicorn on its coat of arms. (Alternatively, Finland’s is adorably hilarious: http://satwcomic.com/coat-of-arms)

Your questions are amazing, and I can’t wait to answer them. Thanks for the tag! 😀

Scotland is beautiful, and Glasgow and Edinburgh are wonderful cities. I love living here, but I live in a small town, and small towns, like they are everywhere, pretty much suck.
But you should definitely see Scotland at some point, especially up north, it’s one of my favourite places to visit, the drive up there is gorgeous, it’s actually where they filmed the external scenery for Hogwarts.
Oh my gosh, I used to love reading satw!
I forgot all about it, thankyou!
      And that is pretty adorable.
I can’t wait to read your answers. Lifes too short for generic questions, am I right? 😛

You got the small-towns thing right. I’ll definitely make a point of touring northern Scotland when I get a chance. Thanks for the tip! 🙂

Ha, I forget about SatW periodically, too. I have some catching up to do.

        It’s so true. 😀

Shadowhunters just had the potential to be so much more. They had some great casting choices and I didn’t mind the slight alterations to the story regarding ages and such, but the show was just boring, nothing much of anything really happened. In a book that’s full of action you’d expect an exciting show, but nope.
The whole, taking two weeks in september started when we started attending Glasgow Comic-con together and we’ve just kept it up every year since. We do so little throughout the year, September is just so much fun, and so relaxing that I look forward to it all year.

Okay it is so cool that your national animal is unicorn. Australia’s is a Kangaroo and Emu, so predictable 😅 Also your September trips sound so much fun! I’ve always wanted to go to a comic con event. I’m super excited for Heartless too.

Thanks so much for the nomination, I’ve already done this one but I appreciate the thought so much. ♥

I’d love to visit Japan and New Zealand too! 🙂 I can’t wait to visit both when I’ve saved up.
I prefer hardcovers too, so I make sure I buy the hardcovers of all my favourites if I can.

I didn’t actually know that the unicorn is the national animal of Scotland, (which is awful, because I live in the UK) but I think that’s actually amazing!

I do tend to buy paperback because they’re much easier to get, but if and when I can I’ll replace them with hardbacks. Mostly so every book on my shelf will be the same height! I don’t know why there are so many size variations with paperbacks, drives me up the wall.
Don’t worry, even a lot of Scottish don’t realise that’s our coat of arms. I think it’s so neat!

Ohh, I have the same problem! Having hardcovers and paperbacks can be such a problem because they’re not the same height. I’ve had to put all the hardcovers in one section, and the paperbacks in another. Mind you, I don’t actually have a shelf but I still like having them in order 🙂

I also want to go to Scotland someday! AND OMG I LOVE UNICORNS SO MUCH, I’M ACTUALLY SECRETLY A UNICORN hihi. I remember when I first heard that thing with Scotland’s national animal, I couldn’t believe it but when I Googled it was legit! SO FREAKING AWESOME HAHA. Thank you so much for the tag, I’ll do this the soonest. 😊😊😊

Scotland is beautiful, I take for granted how gorgeous our countryside is and the fact I can see mountains off in the distance from my garden. It’s only when I visit somewhere else that I really appreciate how lucky I am to live somewhere that has so much green.
      And we have Unicorns!!!
Most people don’t believe it’s true, that it’s our national animal. But it’s true and totally awesome!
